Our Paper Collection Service

Use our handy bins to store your office paper in. We will come and empty these when you want.

We are willing to collect even very small quantities of paper from your offices. To ensure that your paper can be recycled, it is important to keep it free from contaminants like metal, plastics and food. If paper is badly contaminated and cannot be recycled, it will end up being either landfilled, composted or burned for energy. Remember that waxed paper, plastic papers, carbon paper and polyethylene laminates cannot be recycled, and will contaminate recyclable paper collections.

If you would like us to contact you to tell you more about the service we provide, fill in our contact form and we will respond to you shortly:  Contact Form

About The Recycling Process

Paper recycling has existed for as long as paper itself has! Paper is the UK's largest recycler, but there is still so much more potential for recycling. Currently, the UK imports fibres to meet our paper needs. If we recycled as much as we could, we would be able to supply overseas paper markets with fibre. Most importantly, recycling 1 ton of paper product saves the life of 17 trees.

Once collected, the paper is wrapped in tight bales and is then transported to mills and converters for processing. Different types of paper, such as newspapers and office paper, are kept separate, as these are all of a different grade and will be used to make different recycled paper products.

The paper is then broken down to pulp, and undergoes several different processes to clean it, separate it from contaminants, de-ink it, and then finally prepare it for re-use by stripping it of colour, and bleaching it when white paper is needed.

Paper can now be made with the cleaned pulp. If extra strength or smoothness is needed, this can be blended with virgin fiber from new wood. Otherwise, the recycled fiber is used alone.

Depending on quality this can reappear as many different paper products from A4 writing paper to the paper in diaries, or can be used for printing, or to make envelopes and boxes. Usually, recovered paper products are recycled back into similar products of the same grade. However, the recycled pulp can also be used to make egg cartons and fruit trays, or even for fuel, insulation, paint filler, animal bedding or cat litter!
