Data Protection Act 1998

Amendments in 2000 to the Data Protection Act 1998 now mean that a much wider range of material is considered to be sensitive and requires companies to ensure secure disposal of this material. This is to ensure consumer privacy, and to minimise fraud. It is your responsibility to ensure that this happens. Failure to comply can risk fines or even imprisonment.

Our Service

We will provide you with either lockable secure bins to park on site or special heavy duty Secure Disposal bags, which you can pack yourself and tie shut securely using our cable ties. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips or other forms of binding, or to segregate colours. We will then come and collect your bags or bins. All our staff are vetted for security purposes.

We turn your documents into unrecognisable shredded pieces in just seconds. Documents are shredded at a specially built facility, under conditions that ensure complete security with constant TV surveillance in operation.

The shredded waste that we collect is baled and sold to our paper mills, thus providing an environmentally friendly service.

Our costs are all inclusive for supplying of bags, collection and secure shredding service. We will provide you with legal documentation proving that you have responsibly ensured the secure disposal of your sensitive data. This legal documentation is required under the Data Protection Act, the Environmental Protection Act and Duty of Care Regulations.
